You're Sweet -- Color Throwdown #327

Hey Everyone!  I'm popping in today to show you a card for this week's Color Throwdown and this week's Simon Says Stamp 'anything goes' challenge.  I had some time after a bit of organizing (which I'm convinced was really only moving piles around), so I thought I would reward myself with some card making.  I have a few art journal entries to show you as well from the Documented Life Project 2015, but I just haven't taken the pictures yet.  Trust me, I've been keeping up even if my stuff isn't very good from week to week.

My card today uses a set from the January Studio Calico Card Kit.  I'm not quite sure if I'm in love with these kits yet. . .the jury is still out.  I've only used the stamp from this kit and managed to use some goodies from a past Simon Says Stamp Kit (those I do love).  I sprayed over a stencil with Copic marker BG49, and colored my fruit with Inktense pencils.  I still need to play around with those some more.  I don't believe I've very good at them, but they are interesting to me.

Stamps:  January 2015 Studio Calico set
Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black
Paper:  turquoise cardstock, TE Sugar Cube
Accessories:  Inktense pencils, black embossing powder, SS Moroccan Stencil, purple twine, foam tape

Thanks for stopping in!

Taylored Expressions: Hello Baby

Hey everyone!  I hope y'all are enjoying your Monday!  Mine is off and rolling with lots of activities, but before it got too crazy I wanted to show you a card I made using some January goodies from Taylored Expressions.

This card was made using the Hello Baby Petite Stamp & Die combo as well as the Cloud Border die.  That delicious cloud paper and the pink swirly paper both come from the Matched Build a Scene paper pack from TE.  I love the vibrancy of the colors in these packs!  Those papers are so superior.

Thanks for stopping by!

Taylored Expressions: Lefty

Happy Monday, peeps!  Monday has now become our busiest day of the week.  For the introvert in me, I almost dread the day, but I know it's good for me.  It certainly stretches me, and that is okay from time to time.  Thankfully, Tuesdays are pretty much a rest/catch up day since Monday is so full.  Thank you, Lord, for Tuesday.

I want to show you a card I made for the January release of Taylored Expressions.  This is Lefty, and he is a Petite Stamp and Die combo.  That sentiment is probably not for all households, but I believe it probably rings true for ours.  That and a cat. . .our house wouldn't be a home without a cat, lol.  We must need both ;)

I used the Grass Border die and the Instant Photo Frame die, both from TE.  The papers are all from the newly released Build a Scene Matched papers.

I better get on with my crazy day. . .piano, school, Civil Air Patrol, volleyball practice. . .whew!  Thanks for stopping in!

Guest Designing for Color Throwdown #325

Hey everyone, and happy Wednesday!  I'm super excited because I get to guest design for the Color Throwdown this morning and the colors are fabulous (as always)!  The colors this week are aqua, pale yellow, tangerine, and gray, so I flipped through my stash of designer papers to make a completely paper pieced scene.  Oh my gosh, I'm in love with my card. . .can I say that? should I say that?  I think I just love these colors and the stamps and dies I paired them up with.

I used a set from Taylored Expressions called Ships Ahoy Petite Stamp & Die combo along with the various designer papers from different places.  I also used the Build a Scene - Mountain Tops dies as well as the Build a Scene - Swirly Clouds dies.  The caps of the waves were made with white craft ink and some white embossing powder.

Head on over the Color Throwdown blog to play along!  You could end up being a guest designer for them just by playing!

I have a fun card to show you today using a new release from Taylored Expressions called Goody Goody Gumballs Petite Stamp & Die combo.  I was paper pieced using the new Matched papers called Build a Scene, and I paired it up with some new sequins and the Skinny Mini Borders dies.

Happy Release Day to all of the Taylored Expressions fans out there!!!  It's a big day, my friends!  As always, Taylor has lots being released today, and you won't want to miss an ounce of it!  I'm showing off the new set called Perfect Pairs -- Burgers & Fries.  This set was so fun to color.

I paired it up with a few other TE items to include:  Diagonal Stripes Embossing Folder, Tags Stacklets 2 dies, and Label It dies.  I also couldn't stand it, their so cute so I stamped them on the inside of the card as well, hehe.
