Sing of the King

Hey there, crafty peeps!  I wanted to show you another card I made using the latest releases from Taylored Expressions.  I have loved using the new set called Sing of the King, which coordinates perfectly with so many already released products by TE.  I can't wait to use it with Nativity Border and the Bethlehem Border.

I stamped out the sentiment onto the Banner Stacklets 2 die, and used the Little Bits - Ornaments die with various TE felt.  I LOVE how this turned out, and it was so easy that I'll have to make more.  The papers are from the amazing Matched - Gingerbread Lane kit.

Stamps:  Sing of the King
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper:  Matched - Gingerbread Lane
Accessories:  TE Little Bits - Ornaments die, TE Banner Stacklets 2 die, foam tape, silver Atyou Spica Pen, silver cord

Woodland Winter

Good morning, crafty peeps!  I've scheduled this post ahead of time, because as you read this I'm a bit under the weather.  I'll be recovering from knee surgery for the next either couple days or few weeks depending on what they did.  I won't know until I wake up ;)  Regardless, I didn't want to leave y'all high and dry without some papercrafting inspiration!  I made this card using a couple of new dies from Taylored Expressions.  The Woodland Winter die coordinates with the previously released Woodland Winter set.  I also used the new Little Bits - Christmas Bulbs die and wrapped them around the Birch Tree Border die.  That embossing that you see back there uses the new TE Winter Flurry Embossing Folder.  Amazing products!  My creative juices always go into overdrive when I get my hands on some TE goodies ;)

Stamps:  Woodland Winter
Ink:  Memento Espresso Truffle, Distress Broken China & Tumbled Glass, khaki ink
Paper:  TE Salt Water Taffy, TE Sugar Cube
Accessories:  TE Woodland Winter die, TE Birch Tree Border die, TE Little Bits - Christmas Bulbs die, TE Label Stacklets 4 die, TE Branches, Banner, & Bloom die, TE Winter Flurry embossing folder, sponges, foam tape, red fluff, Copics, perfect pearls

Mixed Media Fun!

As I've said before, I've been dabbling in the art of Mixed Media!  Last night had jumped full in by attempting to paint a person.  As you can see I wasn't brave enough to do a face shot, but I did use a piece from a magazine and made it all my own.  There are layers of sheet music in the back as well that you can see faintly.  I have so much to learn, but one of my favorite things about it is being able to cover up mistakes.  I used acrylic paints, watercolor crayons, gesso, black pens, stabilo graphite pencils, and several stencils.

Thanks for taking a look!

Happy World Card Making Day 2014!

Hey Crafty Friends!  What are you doing to celebrate World Card Making Day?!  I'm hoping to get even more time down in my cave to create and celebrate.  I made this card for my in-laws who just moved into a new home.  I used one of my favorite sets from Papertrey Ink called On the Farm with the matching die.

I played around with some embossing paste too.  I started off by painting some kraft cardstock using some distress paints, and then inked my craft mat with some distress inks and put some embossing paste into the ink.  I didn't want it to by completely mixed in, as you can see.  The paste was then spread over the top of the Tim Holtz woodgrain stencil.  Once it was dry the card was assembled.

I have some chili to make and some crafting to do before the Husker game tonight, so I better get going.  Have a wonderful World Card Making Day!

Stamps:  On the Farm
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, SU Real Red, SU Crushed Curry, SU Lucky Limeade, Distress Tea Stain
Paper:  kraft, TE Sugar Cube, TE Oreo
Accessories:  Distress Paint, embossing paste, Woodgrain stencil, PTI On the Farm die, foam tape

Taylored Expressions October Release: On Dasher, On Dancer!

Hey Crafty Friends!  Welcome to the October Taylored Expressions Release!  I'm so excited to show you what I have, and I know you are just going to love everything that TE is releasing today!  I get to show you the new On Dasher, On Dancer die.  I'm in love with how quick and easy this sweet die is at aiding in making some great Christmas cards.  I just paired it up with the Neighborhood Border die and the Winter Wonderland stamp set.

My background was made using some distress inks and some Perfect Pearls mixed with water.  It's a super easy and fast background, so I know I'll be making more of these for Christmas cards.  I used the cardstock from TEs new line of Matched products: Oreo and Sugar Cube.

Stamps:  Winter Wonderland
Paper:  TE Oreo, TE Sugar Cube
Ink:  Craft White, Dusty Concord, Faded Jeans, Tumbled Glass, Black Soot
Accessories:  TE On Dasher, On Dancer die, TE Neighborhood die, aqua brush, foam tape, white embossing powder, perfect pearls
