Clear Dollar Stamps Weekend Color Challenge #21

It's the weekend, so you know what that means!  It's time for the Clear Dollar Stamps Weekend Color Challenge over at Papercraft Planet.  Lisa is our wonderful hostess for this weekend, and she certainly chose some challenging colors to work with. . .or at least they were challenging for me ;)  The colors we had to work with were Pink Passion, Pumpkin Pie, Summer Sun, and optional white and black.  I did a lot of masking with the hay stack from Farm Critters, but this is what I came up with.  I also went ahead and decided to combine this with the Card Patterns sketch challenge.
Stamps:  Farm Critters, Critter Messages (CD Stamps)
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper:  Pink Passion, Pumpkin Pie, Summer Sun, Neenah Solar White
Accessories:  sponge, Curved Rectangles Nestabilities, Double Ended Tags Nestabilities, mini black brads, Forest Branches, black gingham ribbon, Copics, SU dimensionals
Be sure to come back tomorrow, because I'll have more sneak peeks to show you ;D

Clear Dollar Sneak Peeks Day #3

It's day 3 of the Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Peeks, and I have so much to show you.  I must say, the beginning of the month is my favorite time!  (Be forwarned, this is a long post).  Today I have 3 stamp sets to show you with an extra *bonus* stamp at the end!  From the moment these showed up on my door, I couldn't wait to ink them up.  Trust me when I say, I have been dying to show you!

The first stamp set I will show you is called Charlie Lean on Me.  This set is so much fun, and who doesn't love Charlie?!  My first card was a challenge to come up with a card that was not a traditional shape.  Originally it was supposed to look like a barrel, but I'm not so sure it ended up that way.  {lol}  I cannot draw freehand to save my life, so my barrel looks a bit like a can.  You get the idea, right?!  I think it turned out okay, and regardless, it was super fun to make!
Stamps:  Charlie Lean on Me
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip
Paper:  Neenah Solar White, Close to Cocoa, silver, Chocolate Chip
Accessories:  sponge, Pumpkin Pie felt flowers, black mini brads, Forest Branches embossing folder, SU dimensionals, oval cutter
Copics:  R20, E37, E57, E77, E29, RV02, C-3

My next sample was a challenge to not use any designer paper.  Yikes, right, but as soon as I saw these barrells, I knew what I wanted.  Charlie is such a fun character!  You can color this guy however you want and he still looks good ;D
Stamps:  Charlie Lean on Me
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Close to Cocoa
Paper:  Close to Cocoa, Sahara  Sand, Neenah Solar White
Accessories:  corner punch, silver pen, Close to Cocoa marker, silver ribbon, SU dimensionals, silver hodge podge, sponge
Copics:  E21, E37, R20, Blender

My next samples are for a set that is so extremely versatile called Sassy Scallops.  If you love your Nesties like I know you do, you'll have to have this set!  These little stamps add  just the right extra touch.  My first sample was super fun to make with a couple of new Nesties.  Yes, I know, I've gotten a lot of these lately.  I just can't help it!  Clear Dollar has such a great selection of them!  I decided to use the dots stamp, because it went so well with my DP, and the cake on the Biggest Wishes stamp set that released this last month.
Stamps:  Sassy Scallops, Biggest Wishes
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Tempting Turquoise, Riding Hood Red
Paper:  Tempting Turquoise, Riding Hood Red, DCWV Pets Stack, Neenah Solar White, Whisper White

Copics:  C-3, YG06, R46, YR68, BG49, Y17, RV02, W-3, R20, Y00

This next sample I thought would make a great gift for my father-in-law.  He loves to plant new things and track how they are doing from year to year, so I made a gardening journal.  I combined the leaf from Sassy Scallops with Charlie Gardens, which was a new release from this last month.  I made this with my Bind-it-all!  I love this thing.  It gives me soooo many gifting options, and yes you guessed it, you can get it at Clear Dollar Stamps!
Stamps:  Sassy Scallops, Charlie Gardens
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Green Galore
Paper:  Basic Grey Lime Rickey, Gable Green, Neenah Solar White

For my last samples I get to show you Motorcycle Mania, this really amazing motorcycle set!  I was so thrilled to get this set, because a lot of important people in my life ride motorcycles so gift ideas flooded my mind.

Before I met my husband, I had planned to buy my dad's Harley and change the paint color.  I envisioned that Sportster looking like this with an adorable pink color.  Luckily for my dad, I met my man and plans for that money changed.  Regardless, I can see my best friend, Christi, riding something like this ;D

Accessories:  Top Note Die, Tiny Mosaics embossing folder, Aqua painter, white gel pen, pretties kit, word window punch, sponges, silver brads, silver cord, Basic Black & Cameo Coral markers

Stamps:  Motorcycle Mania
Ink:  Craft White, Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper:  Whisper White, Basic Black, DCWV La Creme
Accessories:  Basic Black marker, White gel pen, large white brads, oval cutters

My last sample was combined with a new stamp called Happy Father's Day.  This was so fun for me, because I made it look just like my dad's current bike.  I think he'll love it and be very surprised.

Featured Stamper for CDSWCC #20

Happy Memorial Day!

Well, that was an incredibly hard decision.  I really think that everyone who participated deserves to be the featured stamper, but we can only have one.  So I would like to direct you to Linda's amazing American Moose!
What can I say other than I am a sucker for the American flag, and if you throw a moose in there. . .you're golden!  I love all the little details about this card, and Linda's coloring is fantastic!  Her paper choice is wonderful and oh so patriotic.  I love her star charms and her bow!

Everyone who participated this weekend did amazing work, so I would really love for you to check all of the great work out and leave them a comment.

Be sure you come back at the end of this week for some more Clear Dollar fun!  I'll have a bunch of sneak peeks to show that I've been working on all month.  I can't wait to show you all!  Have a very fun and safe Memorial Day, and remember why we celebrate.  Go thank a soldier!

Card Patterns Sketch #16

Just a quick post today.  It's been a bit of a mad house around here this weekend with a lot of different obligations on my shoulders.  One day at a time, I am managing to knock things out.  The reward is some fresh banana bread baking in the oven on this rainy Sunday evening.

I made this card for the Card Patterns Sketch #16.  It's a great sketch, and I decided to use my Lost at Sea set that is new over at Clear Dollar Stamps for this challenge.  It's a great set that really is so much fun to play with.

A Truly Scrumptious Challenge

I got this stamp set a little while back and have been waiting ever so patiently to ink it up.  My original intention with this set was to start making up cards that to have on hand to send my husband during his next deployment in the fall.  I thought I could also make up a few for some friends dealing with deployments as well.  It's such a fun set and I know my husband will get a kick out of getting these cards once he's deployed.  When I saw the sketch over at Truly Scrumptious, I knew this set would be perfect for it.

Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper:  Basic Grey Lime Rickey, Pink Pirouette, Neenah Solar White, Candy Lane DSP

Color Throwdown Challenge

Apparently I am feeling ambitious, and Katie's buttons got me excited to use them, so here is yet another post.  Not sure where I found the time today, but I did.  This one is for the Color Throwdown #43.  Broni came up with the colors today  which are Lovely Lilac, Old Olive, and Elegant Eggplant.  Those ladies always come up with the greatest color combos!

Paper:  Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive, Lovely Lilac, Neenah Solar White
Accessories:  bright buttons, Old Olive ribbon, shimmery purple ribbon (I {heart} papers), SU dimensionals, Copics, sponge, distressing tool, Swiss Dots embossing folder

Some Super Sweet RAK

About a week and a half ago, I had razzed a sweet new friend of mine about buying up all these bright buttons that the shop offered.  Little did I know they were discontinued, so she did the responsible thing and bought them all.  I told her I would surely find something else to buy over at Clear Dollar Stamps, because I ALWAYS manage to find something to buy from there.  Boy was I blown away when I opened up the mailbox and found a rattling package from the ever so sweet Katie Renz!  When I opened up my package I found it loaded with these bright buttons and a sweet little card.  Ohhh the thoughts running through my head of how I plan to use these. . .muhuahaha!

Paper Blooms Challenge #8

This weeks Paper Blooms challenge was a color challenge.  Yay, I love color challenges!  Since this coming weekend is Memorial Day, we thought it would be great to see what you can make using the colors red, white, and blue.  Being the wife of an American soldier, I take great pride in my country and it's soldiers.  I wanted this card to be fairly simple since it is most likely for a guy.
Stamps:  Godspeed (SU)
Ink:  Sahara Sand, Real Red
Paper:  Whisper White, Brilliant Blue
Accessories:  handmade bloom from Paper Blooms, circle rhinestone brad, sponge, Real Red ribbon

Remember, you don't have to have any of Leah's spectacular blooms to play along, but if you want them you can find them at her Etsy shop.  She's even added some new mini kits to entice you, so go check them out ;D

Clear Dollar Weekend Color Challenge

It's the weekend once again, but this time I may have more time to play in the evenings. . .if I get my chores done.  My husband is in the field for the next 10 days, so I should have time to hang out in the 'craft cave'.  Because it's the weekend, that means it is time for the Clear Dollar Weekend Color Challenge over at Papercraftplanet.  Our hostess this weekend is the very talented Alex, and she chose the colors Riding Hood Red, Blush Blossom, and Certainly Celery.

I just got my Walk in the Park Stamp of the Month set from Clear Dollar the other day and have been waiting to ink it up.  Along with it I got some Flower Soft Summer Mix, so I thought this would be the perfect chance to use it.  I decided to make a gate fold card and had forgotten just how fun these are to make.

A Truly Scrumptious Color Dare

I been really feeling motivated by sketches and color challenges lately, so I thought I would combining a couple this morning.  The colors are Summer Sun, Pacific Point, and Tangerine Tango for the Color Dare, and the sketch is from Truly Scrumptious.  Along with the sketch we had to use a food theme.  I just got a cupcakes set from Inkadinkado with a Michael's gift card from my birthday, so I obviously went with cupcakes for my 'food'.  I ended up crumpling the Tangerine Tango paper for a little bit of extra texture.  For the frosting I colored it with Copics and then covered it with Glossy Glaze.  After that I sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds and some beads over it and let it dry.
Stamps:  Birthday Cupcake (Inkadinkado)
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper:  Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, Good Morning Sunshine DSP
Accessories:  blue brads, Glossy Glaze, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, beads, Stampin' Dimensionals, sponge, Copics, rub-on

A Mojo Color Throwdown

Yesterday I started a Mojo Monday card, and thought 'eh' after it was done.  So today, after seeing the colors for the Color Throwdown, I decided to try my hand at it again.  The sketch is fantastic, and the colors are great.  The colors Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, and Certainly Celery were inspired by the DCWV Green Stack, which I have and LOVE.
Stamps:  What a Hoot (Clear Dollar Stamps) Jeremiah 29:11 (Verve)
Ink:  Stazon Jet Black, Certainly Celery, Riding Hood Red, Baja Breeze
Paper:  DCWV Green Stack, Whisper White, Neenah Solar White
Accessories:  Copics, sponge, Certainly Celery ribbon, Scallop Edge punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

Paper Blooms Challenge #6

Yay, it's Wednesday, so it's time for another Paper Blooms Challenge!  This week's challenge is to make something for a woman of influence in your life.  This can be your mother, your sister, your mentor, or any woman who has made a difference in your life.  I chose to make a card for my mother.

My mom has been such an inspiration to me.  She lives with us and has for the past 2 1/2 years, and it was such a great decision.  Not only do I get to have my mom here, but my kids get to be with their grandmother everyday.  This card is not like most of my cards, but I chose to use these particular blooms because the colors are very soft.  That is how my mother is.  She is a very soft and sweet person.  Because of her, I am reminded everyday how important it is to leave a good legacy behind for my kids.
Stamps:  Happy Mother's Day (Clear Dollar Stamps)
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper:  Sahara Sand, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White
Accessories:  handmade blooms from Paper Blooms, silver hodgepodge, Scallop Edge punch, mint ribbon

We would love for you to come and play along with us, and you don't have to have any of Leah's blooms in order to play.  But if you'd like to check out her Etsy shop I'm sure you'll find something that you'll just love!
