Another Gift

My daughter takes piano lessons from our Pastor's wife, and she is such an amazing teacher. Matti loves her, and loves playing the piano as a result of such good teaching. I found this book at Barnes & Noble, and it is actually a music composition book. Can you believe I got it for like $5 when it was originally $20? I was so elated when I found it, because Matti's piano teacher likes to write her own music as well. I used two sets that I just love from Clear Dollar Stamps; Sweet Symphony and Sheet Music (yes, I know, which ones don't I like from CDS?) I love the elegance of the sets and how beautiful they both are.

Stamps: Sweet Symphony & Sheet Music
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, More Mustard, Chocolate Chip
Paper: watercolor, K&C Co. dp, Basic Black, Brocade Blue
Accessories: air art tool, buttons, Labels 8 Nestabilities, Fancy Tags Nestabilities, Chocolate Chip & More Mustard markers, flourish chipboard, sponge, black ribbon, composition book

As I said a few days ago, I have been creating. With that in mind, I'll have more to show throughout the week. I'm so glad you stopped by and left a comment ;D

Christmas Gifts

From here on for a while I will be showing all of the wonderful goodies I've been working on for Christmas gifts. These are some super fun little gifts that took no time at all once I got the box dimensions down. I didn't do up a tutorial, but these are easy enough to duplicate.

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Gold Leaf Cardstock, Neenah Solar White
Accessories: Sticker Sheet, Brownie Vintage Spun Twill Ribbon, Oval Nestabilities, Transparency sheet, Scor-pal, Copics, mini chocolate bars

I had a ton of fun making these for our mail carrier, the comic book store owner, and friends that my mother works with. And yes, I got everything but the chocolate bars from Clear Dollar Stamps!
These little candies are obviously not actual Hershey Nuggets, but these work just as good.

Get Sketchy

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but I have been creating! I've mostly been making gifts, but creating none the less. Last night I received the most wonderful love letter from my man. Separation is hard no matter how long it is, and I know that my husband is extremely busy. I guess he could tell that I was in need of some affection, so he made my day with a lovely email. I wanted to return the love, so I made this card using the Get Sketchy sketch. I don't know what it is about this little Eskimo set called Winter Eskimo, but it is totally one of my favorite winter sets from Clear Dollar Stamps.

Since we've taken the week off of school, I thought I would be more productive. Let's just say I'm typing this in my jammies. . .at almost noon, lol. Don't judge me, I did make a card. After this fun, I will dress and probably start pulling down Christmas decorations. I love decorating for Christmas!

This card is for the Color Dare challenge. The colors this week are So Saffron, Soft Suede, and Real Red. What a pretty combo, right? Some Daddy Doll Pics

It's finally starting to feel a bit like Fall around here, and our tree out front is turning a lovely shade of dark red. I love the time of year when the leaves change. Most other places have already had this change, but here in southern GA we are starting to really see it and feel it. A while back, my bff Christi, sent me the most adorable photo album for adventures with the Daddy Doll. It came about because we had discussed how are kids could take these dolls with them anywhere they wanted to act like Dad was a part of things. My kids do some crazy things with theirs. Every night my daughter asks hers if it would like to snuggle her. Last night she made me laugh so hard when she had a staring contest with it. She was giggling like crazy at the idea! My son is forever wrestling his and doing flying elbows on it. Oh how different they are.

Yesterday we took 'Daddy' out to see the pretty leaves on the tree. Here are the results and the first pics for our 'Adventures with Daddy Doll' book.
As you can tell, my son was having a hard time containing his laughter.

It's that time again. . .time for the Clearly Inspired Challenge over at Clearly iStamp. This week's challenge was a sketch challenge. I chose to flip the sketch and use this super cute set called Meowy Christmas that is a new November release. I've had so much fun with this set, and yes, I colored this one like a Siamese too. I know, sad that I enjoy my cat as much as I do. I can seriously picture my cat, Nik, doing this exact same thing, while my dog just barked to get him out of there, lol.

Paper: Sahara Sand, Real Red, Prism White, christmas dp
Accessories: Prismacolor Pencils & gamsol, red brads, Chocolate Ribbon, Oval Nestabilities, Polar White Flower Soft

I can't wait to see what you make!

A Fun Ornament

I'm not showing a card today, but I am going to show an ornament! I know that Thanksgiving is still a week away, but I just love Christmas. I don't do well at receiving gifts, but I do enjoy giving them. My mother lives with us and she works retail, so we don't plan on going anywhere. I know this disappoints my in-laws, but I just can't leave my mother home alone. That would be very sad I'm sure.

This ornament or wall hanging was made with the newly released Jolly Joy set from Clear Dollar Stamps. I colored it with Prismacolors, which I have grown to dearly love! I'm hoping I'll actually get a chance to participate in some color challenges this week, so I may have more to show. It's been a crazy week of school and other responsibilities.
Stamps: Jolly Joy
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Glorious Green
Paper: Real Red textured, Prism White
Accessories: Large Square Scallop Nestabilities, Prismacolor Pencils & gamsol, Icicle Stickles, Turquoise Stickles & Pewter Liquid Pearls, Green Striped ribbon, sponge
*all things in green can be purchased at Clear Dollar Stamps

Right now Spellbinders & Bind-it-all products are 20% off at Clear Dollar Stamps from Nov. 17-25! That's a great savings! Go HERE to get the code for this awesome savings.

Operation Write Home Blog Hop!

Hello! This posting is for the Operation Write Home Blog Hop. You'll want to start there if you just stumbled upon my post, because there are a lot of hops in this blog hop. . .over 75! A lot of those blogs have goodies to give away, so you'll want to make sure you get to all of them.

Operation Write Home is a wonderful organization with this mission: "To support our nation's armed forces by sending blank greeting cards to write home on, as well as cards of gratitude to encourage them."

That warms my heart, especially since my man is deployed right now! I've sent several boxes of cards to this group and hearing about how they are received is very emotional. If you've never made anything for Operation Write Home, I would highly encourage you to do so. You don't have to send hundreds. . .even 1 is good and appreciated. Right now they are looking for some Valentine cards, so this is what I came up with.

Stamps: Tanks, Tanking of You on Your Special Day (Hambo Stamps)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Whisper White, Old Olive, Ridinghood Red dp
Accessories: Old Olive, Real Red, & Sahara Sand markers, silver brads, brown ribbon, hearts & brackets die, Diamond Plate embossing Folder

That's not all, folks! I also have some candy to give to celebrate this fun hop! I am offering up these 2 awesome patriotic sets from Clear Dollar Stamps called Colonial Carvings & Liberty along with 2 yards each of blue and red twine. All you have to do is leave me a comment,
and follow me if you want. . .it's that easy! I'd love to hear about your favorite Veteran ;D This candy will be open until the end of the day. So, come back tomorrow to see if you won!Your next stop in the hop is going to be to Donna's blog! She is a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator with something fun to show you, so get to hoppin' after you leave me a comment!

Deployment Mug

Every time my husband deploys we make him a coffee travel mug. It has become tradition as this is now his third 'Deployment Mug'. We will be sending it in the package tomorrow, and it is part of his Christmas present but he knows he's getting it. He always gets very excited about them. This time I decided to do a little something different. Usually, I make them somewhat sentimental. The first one was just of the kids, and the second one was of him and the kids. He asked if this one could have all 4 of us on there, and after seeing what Christi did with the Storytime dp, I just couldn't resist making this. (btw, she sent me that adorable sketch book!)

Anyone for Dominoes?

We played a lot of dominoes when we first moved here to Columbus. We didn't have furniture for 3 months, but we did have a few board games. When I received this set called Railroad Memories, it really did bring back memories of all the dominoes we played. This set is a new November release for Clear Dollar Stamps.
Stamps: Railroad Memories
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Real Red, Brilliant Blue, Glorious Green, Yoyo Yellow
Paper: Basic Black, Yoyo Yellow, Whisper White, Glorious Green
Accessories: crystal lacquer, ticket punch, corner rounder, red ribbon, sponge, Scor-Pal, dimensionals, circle punch
